چکیده
Interventional cardiology is a minimally-invasive imaging procedure that allows medical doctor to evaluate and treat structural heart diseases. Due its main advantages of avoidance the scars pain, as well long post-operative recovery, interventional procedures have rapidly been growing. However, increasingly complex time-consuming in may increase radiation exposure received by patients. This paper describes study measure patient doses terms air kerma air-product (KAP) for various types conducted Indonesia. The measurements were performed at or cardiac catheterization facilities sixteen hospitals ten cities Indonesia during years 2015 2019. A total 147 on adult patients used this study. type procedure, KAP, recorded after each was completed. demographic data also recorded. results showed mean KAP measured CA (coronary angiography) 680.73 ± 57.85 mGy 12.52 5.86 Gy cm 2 , respectively, while values PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) 890.66 38.76 20.18 9.37 respectively. These are within ranges reported other previous studies. somewhat affected body mass index patients, fatal cancer risks among comparable with those radiology

Patient Radiation Doses in Interventional Cardiology Procedures
Interventional cardiology procedures result in substantial patient radiation doses due to prolonged fluoroscopy time and radiographic exposure. The procedures that are most frequently performed are coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary interventions, diagnostic electrophysiology studies and radiofrequency catheter ablation. Patient radiation dose in these procedures can be assessed either...
متن کاملPatient radiation doses in paediatric interventional cardiology procedures: a review.
A large number of investigations into the radiation doses from x-ray guided interventional cardiology procedures in children have been carried out in recent years. A review was conducted of these studies, gathering data on kerma area product (P KA), fluoroscopic screening time (FT), air kerma, and estimates of effective dose and organ doses. The majority of studies focus on P KA and FT with no ...
متن کامل1 Patient doses in interventional cardiology procedures
In most countries of European Union legislation requires the determination of the total skin dose to patient resulting from interventional procedures to assess the risk of deterministic effect. To this end, various dose indicators like dose area product (DAP), cumulative dose (CD) and entrance dose at the patient plane (EFD) are used in clinical practice. The study aims at relating those dose i...
متن کاملRadiation Doses in Patient Eye Lenses during Interventional Neuroradiology Procedures.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Eye lenses are among the most sensitive organs to x-ray radiation and may be considered at risk during neurointerventional radiology procedures. The threshold dose to produce eye lens opacities has been recently reduced to 500 mGy by the International Commission on Radiologic Protection. In this article, the authors investigated the radiation doses delivered to patients' ...
متن کاملionizing radiation-induced cataract in interventional cardiology staff
results the electrophysiology laboratory staff received higher doses of ionizing radiation (17.2 ± 11.9 msv; p < 0.001). there was a significant positive correlation between the years of working experience and effective dose in the lens (p < 0.001). in general, our findings showed that the incidence of lens opacity was 79% (95% ci, 69.9-88.1) in participants with exposure (the case group) and o...
